Max Simonson is a writer/director based in Los Angeles, originally from Melbourne, Australia.

With a strong focus and passion for narrative-driven content, Max has produced several short films and brand videos, bringing to his work an emphasis on intriguing characters and unique premises.

Growing up in Auckland, New Zealand, Max started making short movies with friends at an early age. Upon moving to Melbourne, Australia, he studied Communication and Screen and Media at RMIT where he reinforced both his theoretical and technical knowledge of cinema and the filmmaking process.

Throughout his experience and education Max has cultivated a well-balanced left-brain/right-brain approach to filmmaking where his passion for creative storytelling is complemented by his technical proficiency with cameras, lighting, editing and sound design, all of which inform his vision and craft as a writer/director.

Max has primarily worked freelance as a video editor and videographer and hopes to continue developing his voice as a writer/director through as many creative avenues as possible.
